A Pennsylvania court denied state Rep. Bryan Cutler’s (R) request to block the Allegheny County Board of Elections and Pennsylvania Department of State from holding special elections for three state House vacancies. The elections, scheduled for Feb. 7, will go forward.

Republicans in Congress announced legislation to overturn a Washington, D.C. Council law to allow noncitizen legal residents to vote in local elections. Under the District of Columbia’s Home Rule Act, Congress reviews all legislation passed by the council.
