Team,

We have great news to share — the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) just
released guidance for how immigrant workers who are in labor disputes with
abusive employers can access temporary protections, including work authorization
and protection from deportation.

All working people, regardless of immigration status, have the right to work in
a safe environment with a living wage and to speak up about labor violations
without fear of retaliation. Providing temporary protections to immigrant workers will allow them to safely
organize and fight back against workplace injustices that threaten all workers’ rights.

This momentous victory is the result of years of organizing by workers and
advocates. NILC has been at the forefront of advocating for such a policy for
years because we know that it will make worksites across the country safer and
more equitable for everyone. And thousands of you also joined us — urging DHS to issue this guidance and
make the application process more accessible — so thank you for standing with us
and workers across the country.

We will continue working collaboratively with the Biden administration to create
more just and inclusive protections for all working people, including
immigrants, so that everyone can do their jobs safely and with dignity. To keep pushing for progress, we need supporters like you to help uplift our
mission.

Friend, now is the time to increase our efforts in
strengthening workers’ rights for all, especially immigrants. Will you help fund
our work to fight for immigrant workers’ right to thrive in the U.S.?
