Here’s the deal: Republicans have held up all the House’s work with their botched Speaker vote. But that drama shouldn’t distract from the first days of the brand new, history-making leadership for the Democrats.
Congressman Hakeem Jeffries just made history as the first Black lawmaker to be a party leader in either chamber of Congress! He is joined by Rep. Katherine Clark as minority whip and Rep. Pete Aguilar as Democratic Caucus chair.
Ami is very excited about the new leadership. Our whole team admires the work ethic of all three leaders and we look forward to working with them to continue protecting Americans’ rights while addressing their needs.
Now Ami wants to hear what all our supporters think of this historical moment for Democrats and how it compares to the disastrous Republican Party. Let us know in our flash poll! [[link removed]]Answer Here>> [[link removed]]
In the past two years we used our Democratic majority to pass historic bills that protect Marriage Equality, invest in infrastructure, and address issues like climate change, prescription drug costs, and inflation. Leader Jeffries and Representatives Clark and Aguilar are going to be fighting against a new Republican House majority to continue this progress.
As we start the new Congress, Ami needs all of his supporters to weigh in on the change in leadership.
