We voted on legislation to increase America's energy security, counter the Chinese Communist Party’s malign influence, and hold the Biden administration accountable. ON THE DOCKET: Our Conservative Agenda Biden’s Mishandling of Classified Documents Constituent Services THE BRIEF: December was the 21st straight month that real wages have been negative. Service members terminated over their COVID-19 vaccination status can now be reinstated in the military. Inflation has skyrocketed from 1.4% when Biden took office to 6.5% today because of Democrats’ out-of-control government spending. LEGISLATIVE UPDATES I am proud to be your conservative voice in Washington. This week, I went to work defending your rights and protecting our national security. Here is legislation I voted in support of – 118th Congress House Rules Package I voted in support of the 118th Congress rules package, which will result in the most Member-driven, open, transparent, and accountable House of Representatives to date. This rules package will restore the People’s House! Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act I voted for the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act to defund the new 87,000 IRS agents that Democrats want to sick on the American people. America deserves a government that works for them - not against them! Protecting America's Strategic Petroleum Reserve from China Act I voted in support of the Protecting America's Strategic Petroleum Reserve from China Act because energy security is national security. America's petroleum reserves are at the lowest they've been since 1983 because Biden has sold nearly 40% of the stockpile to bad actors like the Chinese Communist Party. This bill will stop the Biden administration from selling off our reserves to our direct threats. Select Committee on Chinese Communist Party The Chinese Communist Party is a foreign aggressor that commits blatant human rights abuses and endangers our national security. They must be held accountable. This week, I was proud to join my colleagues in a bipartisan effort to create the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party. Communist China is a serious threat to the United States, and this committee will investigate solutions to issues from manufacturing to national security. Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government I voted in support of the creation of the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. I am committed to defending Americans' civil liberties from government overreach, and this committee will investigate gross civil rights and surveillance abuses conducted by the Executive Branch. I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! This week, the American people learned that Joe Biden inappropriately maintained and kept classified materials from his time as Vice President. These reports raise serious questions about national security. When asked about the legality of Biden’s reckless actions, the White House had NO answer. Was national security compromised due to Biden’s mishandling of classified materials? Yes No Do you trust the FBI and DOJ to investigate Biden’s mishandlings of the classified materials? Yes No CONSTITUENT SERVICES As your congressman, one of the most important parts of my job is helping my constituents cut through bureaucratic red tape with issues related to federal agencies. In December, my office assisted 141 Central Texas families with issues like back IRS refunds, VA benefits and passport delays and returned over $5,000 to constituents.
