House Republicans are Hitting the Ground Running
It’s been a busy week in Washington and House Republicans are already hitting the ground running.
Check out what we worked on this week:
Rep. LaTurner joins the House Appropriations Committee
I am humbled and honored to be selected by my colleagues to serve on the House Appropriations Committee.
My full statement:
Rep. LaTurner is sworn into the 118th Congress
January 7th I was officially sworn into the 118th Congress. One-party Democrat rule in Washington is finally over.
Let’s get to work!
Last night, I voted YES on the first bill of the 118th Congress—legislation to rescind Democrats’ army of 87,000 IRS agents.
With inflation still crushing family budgets, the last thing Kansans need is the IRS breathing down their necks.
In communities across Kansas, pro-life institutions, including crisis pregnancy centers and churches, have been attacked and vandalized by pro-abortion activists. This is unacceptable.
Last night, I voted to condemn these acts of political violence.
President Biden recklessly sold oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to China in an effort to cover up his failed energy agenda. As a result, the SPR is at its lowest level since 1983.
I voted YES on HR 22 to stop POTUS from sending America's emergency fuel supply to the CCP.

Prayers for
Captain. Ty Forshee
Join me in praying for a full and speedy recovery for Topeka Fire Department Capt. Ty Forshee.
Thank you to all our first responders who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe.
Human Trafficking Awareness Day
January 11th was National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. It's vital that we reaffirm our commitment to raising awareness, empowering survivors, and prosecuting traffickers.
Thank you to all the organizations across Kansas working tirelessly to combat this horrific crime.

Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate Officially Lifted
Great news → The Pentagon has officially ended its COVID-19 vaccine for our military.
I'm proud to have worked with my Republican colleagues in the House to help pull this overreaching policy from the National Defense Authorization Act.

Pushing Back on Biden's Agenda
It took President Biden over 700 days to plan a trip to the southern border. During that time, over 4.5 million illegal immigrants, 20,000 pounds of deadly fentanyl, and 98 individuals on the terrorist watch list attempted to cross into our country.
My colleagues and I on the Homeland Security Committee introduced more than 20 border security bills in the 117th Congress—all blocked by Democrats. President Biden and his liberal allies in Congress have turned their backs on this national security and humanitarian crisis for far too long. House Republicans will take action to secure and regain operational control of America's southern border.
The Biden administration's woke agenda continues to chip away at our freedoms.
Their next target: Gas Stoves
Instead of focusing on the real issues impacting families, Washington bureaucrats want to control the way Americans cook their food.
The Biden administration has failed to counter the growing national security threat from Communist China.
House Republicans voted to establish a bipartisan Select Committee on China to defend the U.S. from increased CCP aggression.
