New Democrat Coalition Chair Kuster on Declining Inflation Rate

On Thursday, New Democrat Coalition Chair Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement on the release of December’s inflation report, showing a decline in the price of consumer goods and services:

“Today's inflation report is yet another indication that our Coalition’s work to implement the New Dem Action Plan to Fight Inflation is helping to provide relief to millions of Americans burdened by high prices.

“Last year, New Dems established an Inflation Working Group and developed a comprehensive plan to bring down prices for hardworking Americans. Since then, New Dems have been hard at work implementing the Action Plan to lower costs and fight inflation.

“New Dems successfully fought to pass the Inflation Reduction Act to lower health care and energy costs, the CHIPS and Science Act to fix our supply chains, and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to rebuild our ports, roads, and bridges.

“While these numbers are a sign that progress has been made, the fact remains that prices are too high and there is more work to be done. Our Members are at the table and willing to work with anyone on commonsense solutions to tackle inflation and ensure American families can make ends meet.”
