PRESCRIBED BURN PLANNED FOR TODAY

The US Fish and Wildlife Service from Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, in conjunction with the Fort Hood Directorate of Public Works Natural and Cultural Resources Management Branch, will conduct prescribed burns today, Friday, 13 January, in TA63 and TA64, and Saturday, 14 January in TA8, TA32 and BLORA within the U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hood and III Corps and Fort Hood footprint. Ignition operations will begin after 10 am, both days.

TA63 & TA64 are located on the west side of the Installation between Old Georgetown Rd and Highway 116. TA8, TA32 & BLORA are located on the east side of the Installation between North Nolan Road and Belton Lake. Friday forecast winds are generally out of the north (blowing to the south). Saturday forecast winds are generally out of the south (blowing to the north).
