TDI proposes changes to licensing rules
The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) proposes amending and repealing rules in the Texas Administrative Code?s Licensing and Regulation of Insurance Professionals [ [link removed] ]Chapter. Amendments and repeals include:
* Removing:
* The subagent designation.
* References to life and health insurance counselor and insurance service representative licenses.
* The affidavit requirement for nonresident public insurance adjusters.
* The requirement to report and register each branch location.
* Discontinuing the registration for home office salaried employees.
* Increasing ethics continuing education requirements from two hours to three hours, as mandated by law.
* Changing the expiration date for a license issued to an individual.
* Updating obsolete statutory references, obsolete references to the State Board of Insurance, and obsolete addresses.
