Arizona Dem AG Kris Mayes’s victory just a few short weeks ago is even more consequential than you might think. Now that the Big Lie-promoting Republican candidate Abe Hamadeh lost, it’s official: Every election denier seeking statewide office in Arizona lost.
This is huge news. We needed your help to elect pro-democracy Dem AGs just like AG Mayes — and you delivered. But there will be more problematic, radical GOP candidates to defeat in 2023 and 2024 — which is why we have to gear up now.
Abe Hamadeh lost because people knew he was lying about the 2020 election and that he would support other election deniers’ claims. Arizonans know better than to support a radical candidate undermining democracy — that’s why they elected Dem AG Mayes to protect Arizona’s democracy.
We feel confident that AG Mayes will uphold the rule of law and won’t use her power to influence the 2024 presidential election.
