John,
This week, Team Cori shared our first priorities survey of the 118th Congress. A major focus of the next few months is going to be setting legislative objectives and organizing our priorities, and your feedback is enormously helpful.
All of the issues in the survey — and more — will need to be addressed by the 118th Congress, and each is a key priority for Cori. We’re eager to get to work, but with a Republican-controlled Congress that can barely get a Speaker of the House confirmed, we’re going to need all the help we can get to amplify these priorities. Will you make a contribution and help us get to work in Congress?
Now, here are the results from our survey:
1. Housing for All
Cori knows what it’s like to be unhoused, living out of her car with her two small children while working a full-time job — and she brings that experience with her to Congress every single day. She is leading the fight to make sure that every single person is able to have shelter and safety by declaring that housing as a human right — and since getting elected, she’s refused to let anyone forget it.
2. Protecting the Right to Vote
Our democracy is under attack by Republican state legislatures across the country, members of Congress, and others holding federal office. It’s on us to take action to make sure that every single person has the right to vote and to be able to participate in our Democracy.
3. Environmental Justice
The climate crisis threatens us all, and will disproportionately impact our nation’s most vulnerable populations. Cori introduced the Green New Deal for Cities in 2021 to fund an expansive array of community-based climate and environmental justice jobs and projects — including wind power procurement, clean water infrastructure, and air quality monitoring — by giving funding directly to city, state, local, indigenous, and territorial governments.
Want to help support these efforts? Make a contribution today.
In solidarity,
Team Cori
