We made significant progress last year with the first-ever hearing on
Medicare for All in the U.S. Senate, a dozen candidates who ran on
Medicare for All and won their elections, 70 candidates and elected
officials who took the Patients Over Profits Pledge, and more.

And conditions are ripe for more historic progress in 2023. With Senator
Bernie Sanders set to take over as chair of the crucial Senate Health,
Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee next month, the health care
industry is scared that they won’t have the influence they once did over
powerful lawmakers.^1

That’s good for us — our movement is in a better position than ever before
to gain support for Medicare for All in Congress, and it’s on us to build
on our organizing efforts in advance of the reintroduction of the House
and Senate bills this year.

We have a lot of exciting plans coming this year, and we can’t wait for
you to get involved. We
hope you’ll join us to continue pushing to gain new cosponsors, help move
the national single-payer movement forward, and stand up to corporate
influence in our politics. [ [link removed] ]Come to the call on January 31 to learn
