I would like to begin by wishing everyone across the Esher and Walton constituency a very happy New Year and all the best for 2023.
Below you can find what I've been doing since my last update and some of my priorities for the year ahead.
Yours sincerely,
Dominic
Bike thefts in the constituency
Local commuters have been in touch with me to following a string of recent bike thefts across Esher and Walton constituency.
In December, I wrote to British Transport Police and Network Rail to request more CCTV cameras to protect the bike sheds at Walton station. You can read my letter below.
I am delighted to confirm that South Western Railway will now be installing more CCTV at Walton Station to detect and prevent these crimes.
However, there is more that can be done to prevent bike thefts at stations across the constituency.
Have you had your bike stolen from a local rail station? Please tell me about your experience below as I will be using your feedback to push this issue further with the British Transport Police.
As part of My Plan for Esher and Walton constituency, I am campaigning for improved facilities at local train stations, and supporting Surrey Police to make our streets safer.

Constituents have been in touch with me to raise concerns regarding the quality of their homes and the level of service PA Housing provide their tenants.
I met with PA Housing at their offices in Walton-on-Thames to raise these concerns directly with management.
If you are a customer of PA Housing in my constituency and have a problem with your home, please get in touch with me at the details below.
Supporting Walton Charity
I recently visited Elmbridge-based Walton Charity to discuss their latest report, 'Under the Radar', which explores how our local community can work together to tackle pockets of deprivation across Esher and Walton constituency.
This report is central to their mission to build a thriving Elmbridge community. Over the past year, Walton Charity has committed £561,000 in grant funding to support families and community projects across Elmbridge.
A special thanks to Jackie Lodge and Louise Elliott from Walton Charity for taking the time to meet with me.
I visited Strasbourg for meetings with the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights to discuss our common sense plan for Bill of Rights to build on the UK’s proud tradition of liberty, and what we can do collectively to hold Russia to account for its illegal invasion of Ukraine.
We are introducing 83 new cutting edge bag scanners across 44 prisons to further crackdown on drugs and phones behind bars. This is in addition to all of the other measures we have taken to improve prison security including drug-tracing machines, drug dogs and x-ray body scanners. This is getting more prisoners off drugs and keeping our streets safer.
