Monday was National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. We are grateful for the
sacrifice and service of the men and women who protect us and keep our
communities safe. Thank you!

Also Monday, Rep. Jen Kiggans (VA-02) joined her Republican colleagues in
voting for the passage of the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection
Act, legislation that will repeal the hiring of 87,000 IRS agents.

Tuesday, Senator Katie Boyd Britt (R-AL) joined Senators Marsha Blackburn
(R-TN) and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) in a tour of the Southern border, an
experience she described as "gut-wrenching."

Also Tuesday, Rep. Nancy Mace (SC-01) joined colleagues on both sides of the
aisle by voting to establish a Select Committee on China. The committee will
look at a wide-ranging set of issues, including trade, defense, foreign policy,
technology, and human rights.

Wednesday, many of our women received top committee assignments, putting them
in a strong position to lead and enact change.
Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) will serve as Chairman of the House
Commerce Committee.
Rep. Stephanie Bice (OK-05) was named to the Appropriations Committee and Rep.
Beth Van Duyne (TX-24) has been selected to serve on the Ways and Means
Committee.
Freshman Reps. Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) and Erin Houchin (IN-09), along with
Rep. Young Kim (CA-40), were selected to serve on the Financial Services
Committee.
Thursday, freshman Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05) had the opportunity to
preside over the House floor and close the vote on the Protecting America's
Strategic Petroleum Reserve from China Act. Per its name, the legislation will
ban sales from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to China.
