Hi there!

Welcome to your new year and new decade! In 2020, we have big, beautiful vision for the future of animals. We envision a world in which no animal—not a single chicken, cow, pig, fish, turkey, lamb, and beyond—is raised for food. We’ll be sharing more about how we are planning to fulfill this vision, step by step. In the meantime, since it’s already January 15th, here’s a look at how we’ve been kicking off the new year.

From Professional Poker Player to Vegan Restaurateur: Meet Garrett Greer

In this inspiring video, Garrett Greer tells us about the founding of the Black Bean Café in Southern California, a restaurant driven by its devotion to guilt-free living. Naturally, this includes leaving animals off his, and his customers, plates. It’s just the motivation needed to celebrate the second half of Veganuary!

Del Taco: Ahead on sales, behind on animal welfare
Del Taco had a successful 2019, but there is one major area that the company is falling behind on—animal welfare. And while over 160 major food companies in the US (including Chipotle, Burger King, and Subway) have all adopted the Better Chicken Commitment [[link removed]] , Del Taco has failed to address the poor living conditions, inhumane breeding practices, and painful slaughter suffered by the chickens they source and serve. Can we count on you to help hold Del Taco accountable?

2019 Gift Matching Challenge
As you know, during the month of December, a fellow anonymous donor generously pledged to match any donations made up to $500,000. We’re proud to announce that generous supporters like you helped us exceed our $500,000 goal, meaning we raised more than a million dollars for the animals! These funds will go directly toward ending the abuse of animals raised for food. On behalf of the animals, thank you!

Stay tuned! With your continued support, 2020 is going to be our biggest year yet. Thank you for always standing by us and for making this critical work possible! We look forward to an exciting year of real change for the animals!

For the animals,
