David Perdue hates taxes on the wealthy and large corporations — but if you’re a woman looking to get an abortion, he wants to penalize you by increasing your taxes.
Perdue helped lead the effort to pass the Trump tax cut for the top 1% in 2017. He opposes taxes that stand to harm his own wealth or that of his campaign contributors, and he’ll blow a trillion-dollar hole in the deficit if the GOP’s top donors tell him to. But he sanctimoniously looks on a woman’s right – to her own bodily autonomy, to her own healthcare choices, to her constitutionally protected right to abortion – far more harshly.
This week he helped introduce a bill called the Abortion Is Not Healthcare Act to make sure abortions can’t be covered as out-of-pocket medical expenses on federal tax returns – unlike private, intimate medical procedures performed on men. He basically wants to economically penalize women who make decisions about their own healthcare.
It’s absurd. And it shows Perdue’s hypocritical, vindictive views toward women and taxes. It’s dangerous to have a senator who is willing to use government as a weapon against its people.
David Perdue believes Amazon shouldn’t be taxed, but a woman’s uterus should. Rush in a donation right now to help defeat him and put the Senate’s anti-woman agenda on the scrap heap where it belongs. [[link removed]]
