We have a crisis on the southern border. While we must work to secure the border, we have to recognize and preserve the humanity of the people seeking refuge in the United States as they escape violence and persecution in countries like Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti, and Nicaragua.
Congress has the power to improve this situation. With additional funding, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) can process claims in a timely manner and get asylum seekers the support they need.
Sign the petition: Tell Congress to do all it can to protect asylum seekers.
Border security cannot be devoid of compassion. It’s up to us to assist those seeking a safer, improved quality of life in the United States, regardless of their country of origin or their financial means.
