Taking on this debt was the right thing to do. GOP spending against us SKYROCKETED in the last few weeks of the campaign, polls tightened to within a point or two, and pundits doubted whether we could win. We made the best decisions we could with the information we had.

Now we need to put this campaign to bed once and for all.
