It’s been only a week since Republicans took control of the House, and we’re off to a troubling start.

But don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what they’ve done so far:

FIRST, Republicans halted all Congressional business, taking five days and 15 rounds of voting to elect a Speaker.

THEN, they immediately jammed a bill through the House, reversing IRS funding that was geared toward reforming our tax system and ensuring our nation’s wealthiest 1% pays their fair share.

THEN, as if all of this wasn’t bad enough, the GOP just passed new abortion legislation, a first step toward restricting reproductive rights.

The scene playing out in our nation’s Congress is disheartening. Republicans are determined to put us on the path to absolute chaos, and we can’t allow it. Despite their fractured start, the GOP is still on the warpath, and they will jump at all opportunities to take us backward.

Leaders like Lisa Blunt Rochester are doing everything they can to protect our progress and stop the GOP’s advances, but unless we show up to support her, all our efforts could be in jeopardy.
