Time to feel encouraged! The new House of Representatives is preparing to consider bills greatly improving our immigration system Get ready to rumble!
Dear John, It took them a while, but the new Republican-led House of Representatives has elected its leaders, settled on its rules of operation, and they're already hard at work. One of the House leaders' early priorities is CLEANING UP THE MESS AT THE BORDER! What might this include?
Besides all this, the House will be using its investigative powers to grill administration officials like Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. John, what makes the Republican takeover of the House encouraging is that Republicans have changed for the better on immigration. We believe that perhaps for the first time, House Republicans are ready to stand together and get something done about immigration. We've always had some members of Congress who were eager to fight for our cause, but we haven't had a party unified behind it like Republicans in the House are now. Of course, the Republicans are far from having the supermajority needed to override a Presidential veto. They don't even control the Senate! We need Republicans to be willing to fight harder to include immigration enforcement in must-pass legislation than the Democrats are willing to fight to block it. Also, and this is very important, at NumbersUSA we are always working to influence Democratic Members of Congress to stand up for the American worker. Some are listening! We're standing by, ready to push great immigration bills through the process. When I say "push," I mean P-U-S-H Hard!!! But we need your help. What we do and how we do it costs money, and I know, John, how much you care about reforming America's out-of-control immigration system. So, I need to ask for your help again. Please help us to get off to a strong start in this new legislative year with a donation. We need you!
You can donate three ways: 1) Give via our web page, using your credit card or Paypal. 2) Check -- see the instructions and a form to print out and send with your check. 3) Call (703) 816-8820 to arrange a wire transfer, stock donation, or to make a credit card donation over the phone.
