FIRST: Derek won reelection and headed back to Congress this month to represent our region.

THEN: Derek and the rest of the nation watched as Republicans rejected Rep. Kevin McCarthy's bid for House speaker 15 times, marking the first time in 100 years that the speaker of the House election has required more than one floor vote.

NOW: It's clear these next two years are going to be an uphill battle. But Derek is more than ready to go to bat for Social Security, working people, and our freedoms no matter what the Republican majority throws our way.
