John,
This week marks the one year anniversary of When We All Vote and 30 other organizations’ pledge to “Fight for our Vote.” Last January in the New York Times, we pledged to recruit and train at least 100,000 volunteers in 2022 to register and turn out voters in their communities, register more than a million new voters across the country, recruit thousands of lawyers to protect voters in the states where the freedom to vote is threatened, and so much more.
I am proud to say — WE DELIVERED! As a collective, we were able to:
🗳️ Register two million voters (double our goal!)
👥 Engage 100,000 volunteers
⚖️ Recruit nearly 4,000 lawyers who donated more than 45,000 hours of free legal services
➕ And more!
In 2020, our work reached over 100 million people, and everything we accomplished this cycle builds on that success. In 2022 we worked tirelessly to educate, inform, and mobilize our communities toward one goal — TO VOTE.
