In case you missed it, Gabe is introducing his FIRST bill in Congress this week, and it’s aimed at holding the right-wing extremists accountable for holding Congress hostage and wasting taxpayer dollars with their chaotic five-day House Speaker vote last week — the longest speaker vote our country has seen in 164 years.

According to Gabe, the McCARTHY Act “is simple, and simply it’s that Congress won’t get paid until the speaker is elected in the future. If you don’t work, you don’t get paid.”

While Republicans were in disarray over choosing a Speaker last week, the work of Congress was completely stalled, meaning Gabe and other members couldn’t be sworn in, address constituent needs in the district or start working on the issues that matter to the people.
