The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is allowing pharmacies across the country to dispense abortion pills to people who have a prescription. This is amazing news as we fight back against the Republicans and far-right attacks on abortion access across the country.
Unsurprisingly, Republican AGs across the country are trying to stop this advancement and lifesaving treatment. And guess what, at DAGA we’re trying to stop the Republican AGs from winning more states. Dem AGs have been at the forefront of protecting abortion well before Roe was overturned, and we’re not going anywhere. Can we count on you to chip in as we support pro-abortion Dem AGs?

Additionally, a new opinion issued by the Justice Department will allow the Postal Service to deliver abortion pills to folks in states that have outright banned or restricted the procedure. We applaud the opinion because we believe patients shouldn’t have to struggle to receive medical treatment — but Republican AGs continue to fight to control access and private health care decisions everywhere they can.
Take a look at Alabama Republican AG Steve Marshall. He’s doing everything he can to penalize those seeking abortion, claiming a law intended to protect children from chemical endangerment allows the state to take legal action against those who use abortion pills. The lengths the GOP will go to criminalize abortion and prosecute patients are unbelievable!
We need more Dem AGs in office who will not only protect abortion access, but expand it so no one has to struggle to get an abortion. As we make our way through 2023, and prepare for 2024, we need to support pro-abortion Dem AGs. Donate to DAGA today to support pro-abortion Dem AGs and candidates.
Thanks,
DAGA Policy Team
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
