This year’s Earth Day theme, Invest In Our Planet, demands that people, governments, and businesses must act together to fight climate change. Only together can we make strides in the battle for our very existence. In the case of the ozone layer, people identified the issue and pushed for a solution, governments implemented the Montreal Protocol, and businesses followed the legislation. The successful application of the regulations that phased out production of ozone-depleting chemicals is a clear example of the good we can accomplish when we unite in the fight for the Earth. EARTHDAY‍.ORG is the driving force behind the world’s largest environmental movement that brings about change. Every year, Earth Day serves as the rallying point for action that renews our commitment to the planet. Through cleanups, rallies, teach-ins, faith gatherings — Earth Day events invite everyone to the movement and inspire lifelong activists.
