John,
This is what Donald Trump said just 48 hours ago about his decision to assassinate Iranian general Qasem Soleimani.

This president nearly dragged us to the brink of a catastrophic conflict in the Middle East – putting thousands of lives at risk – and believes that he didn’t need a reason to do it. This is yet another example of Trump’s abuse of power and why he must be removed.
The Senate is on the verge of voting on a bill to limit Trump’s war powers and it’s up to us to make sure it passes. Can you take direct action tomorrow, January 14th on Capitol Hill to demand that Congress hold Trump accountable and end these forever wars?
Take direct action in D.C. »
Women’s March and our allies are joining together to call for de-escalation, break the cycle of endless war, and make sure that Trump is a one-term president. But we need your help.
To make this happen, we need a massive display of people power – tomorrow and on Saturday – to demonstrate the strong, unified voice for peace in this crucial moment.
The action will take place on Thursday starting at 12 PM on the East Lawn of the Capitol across from the Supreme Court. If you’re interested in participating in the direct action, please join our mass nonviolent direct action training tonight, January 15th to go over the action plan, get all the legal details, and help organize to stop this war.
Here are the details for the training:
What: Mass Nonviolent Direct Action Training
When: Wednesday, January 15th, 6pm-9pm
Where: Luther Place Memorial Church, 1226 Vermont Ave NW, Washington, DC xxxxxx
If you aren’t sure yet about whether you want to participate in the direct action portion of the action, don’t worry – there is a role for everyone.
Please RSVP now to let us know you’re coming.
Americans do not want a war, and we must demand that Washington’s leaders hold Trump accountable and choose a different path.
Hope to see you there.
