Friend,

With so much at stake and so little time, EPA needs to move further, faster. But our new analysis reveals they're only falling further behind.

Read and share our updated EPA report card right now—we need to raise awareness of these unacceptable delays.

Image of Evergreen Collaborative's new January 2023 report card. 'EPA must go further, faster on power sector pollution.' Delayed further for: carbon standards for new power plants, mercury and air toxic standards, closing startup, shutdown and malfunction loopholes, national soot standard and toxic water pollution rule. No action for: regional haze rule and coal ash rule. On track for: good neighbor rule.

EPA is only on track with one of 10 crucial environmental rules. These delays perpetuate environmental injustice and mean more people will be exposed to toxic pollution and suffer worse health consequences. These rules are also the most effective tool President Biden has to combat climate change.

There are only two years left in Biden's term, and EPA's delays threaten the administration's very ability to fulfill Biden's own climate commitments. Waiting until the last moment isn't an option.

With its delays, EPA risks leaving signature achievements unfinished—or risks their reversal by a future Congress or administration before they can even take effect. Read more about this pressing threat to our clean energy future now.

Onward,

Charles Harper
Power Sector Policy Lead, Evergreen Action
