The Hunt Institute releases final briefs of three-part series on HBCU underfunding
Addressing Historic Underfunding of HBCUs juxtaposes Maryland’s use of litigation and public opinion with Tennessee’s bipartisan legislative support. While both approaches resulted in historic settlements to support their Historically Black Colleges and Universities, each state experienced unique challenges and successes from which other states can learn as they consider their own approaches to addressing historic disinvestment.

Last week, we mourned the passing of Connecticut Representative Quentin "Q" Williams. Representative Williams was an integral member of the Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows Cohort 8. The passion and energy he brought to this work was nothing short of inspirational. Our staff considers it a unique privilege to have been able to work with and learn from him.
This is a devastating loss for all who knew him as well as for his state and our country. The legacy he leaves behind is one of hope and radical optimism, one that we all might strive to uplift.
