Call for Indigenous Graphic & Animation Artists

Indigenous Rising Media is the multimedia arm for the Indigenous Environmental Network and we are looking for an animator and potentially a graphic designer to work on a project centered around carbon markets. Indigenous Rising Media is a freestanding Indigenous platform to uplift Indigenous and frontline community's work. The animation itself will be roughly 90 seconds in length.

Deadline to Apply: January 28, 2020.
Please send your resume, personal statement why you are interested in the project, 2 samples of your work, and two references to Jennifer K. Falcon, [email protected] : mailto:[email protected]

Background:
Indigenous Rising Media is a media project by the Indigenous Environmental Network that was born during COP24 and was elevated by reporting during the #NoDAPL fight at Standing Rock. Currently, Indigenous Rising Media has an Instagram following of 65k followers with an additional 185k followers on Facebook, and 45k on Twitter. The winning bid will work closely with the IEN carbon markets team.

Needs:
The animator will work closely with the project manager on a ninety second animation video that would explain the dangers of  carbon markets at a level appropriate for youth climate activists. The animation would compliment a longer 10-15 minute video on carbon pricing and our Carbon Pricing Toolkit V.2.

We will also be bringing on a graphic artist to create title cards for the project. Although we are open to one person being able to complete both tasks.

This would be a stand alone project with future opportunities with the Indigenous Rising Media collective.
