John, we know it's going to be a rough two years.

What can we expect with the House being under a Republican majority?
Currently, the House has put forward a reversal of funds to the IRS. Those
funds were designated to tighten up audits on people making over $400,000
in a tax year. But the GOP has branded it as new agents going over lower
and middle-class families...which isn't the case. What will really
transpire, if the bill were to make it through the Senate, is a Republican
staple: ensuring tax cuts and loopholes for their billionaire friends stay
in place.

The pattern may very well be that we see a lame-duck session until 2024.
Bills may be passed back and forth through the House and Senate and not
see any real progress if the Republicans double down on their loyalty to
MAGA GOP goals. In turn, many goals of the House may not be met as we have
a slim majority in the Senate.

In a perfect world, this would create a good environment for real
discussion and policy proposals to evolve for the benefit of the American
people. But, we're looking at the reality of the influence of the MAGA
Republicans in the House, which does not bode well for democracy.

these next two years reaching deep into the rural areas of our country and
making sure their voices are heard. Can you join us and contribute to
these important communities?
