The North Carolina Supreme Court has struck down a 2018 voter ID law.
The majority opinion says the law was “formulated with an impermissible intent to discriminate against African American voters in violation of the N.C. Constitution.”
That’s the truth, John, plain and simple. Voter ID laws have been proven to discriminate against Black voters, older voters, and poorer voters — and striking down these un-democratic laws is the only correct course of action.
