John, I've got big news!
I've officially been sworn in as the representative for Illinois' 3rd Congressional District!

John, getting here ⬆️ wasn't easy.
Last time you heard from me, the House had adjourned without a speaker for the first time in over a century. I can't believe I'm saying this – it took a total of fifteen votes across four days before Republicans were able to reach a consensus.
But in the early, early hours of Saturday morning, I officially became your Congresswoman.
While it was incredibly frustrating watching Republicans waste time we could've spent passing life-saving legislation for millions of people, I'm happy to say that my fellow newcomers and I can finally get to work.
And believe me, we are. I've teamed up with some really amazing people (who you'll hear about very soon) to fight for the issues that matter most: affordable housing, quality and accessible healthcare, and immigration reform.
I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the time, energy, and support you've given me and my team. Without you, this wouldn't have been possible.
But we're just getting started, John. If my team and I are going to get things done, a strong coalition of grassroots support is crucial. We're trying to get our message out to as many people as possible, will you help us do that? [[link removed]]
