Hi there, Friend –

Big news – Governor-Elect Shapiro has nominated Rich Negrín to be the next Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection.

Negrín is an attorney with extensive governmental experience. He previously served as the Deputy Mayor of Philadelphia and most recently worked as an executive at a utility company. If approved, he will be the first Latino head of the DEP.

We look forward to working with Secretary-designate Negrín to continue making Pennsylvania a cleaner, greener place to live!

Even as we gear up to welcome a new Shapiro administration into office, we need to stay engaged in order to get the kind of bold policies we need to improve water and air quality and create the clean energy jobs of the future.

Friend, can I count on you to sign our petition to make sure Governor-Elect Shapiro and Rich Negrín work together to put Pennsylvanians like us over the corporations that make billions polluting our communities: [link removed]

Friend,

I’ve got some exciting news that I wanted to share with all of our members – I have been appointed to Governor-elect Josh Shapiro’s environmental transition team!

This means that Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania – and the movement we’ve built together – is helping to inform Pennsylvania’s next governor about the policies his administration should take to secure clean water, air and open spaces, and a clean energy future for all.

There’s just about a month until Governor-elect Shapiro takes office. I want to make sure I’m bringing the full force of Conservation Voters of PA’s tens of thousands of members to every meeting I’m part of and speaking for YOU.

Friend, will you raise your voice to tell our next governor to take bold action for our environment by protecting clean water, air, and voting rights for everyone who calls Pennsylvania home? Sign our petition: [link removed]

Because of your votes and activism, we elected a pro-environment leader in Josh Shapiro. And I can’t remember a time when environmental organizations have played such a critical role in a gubernatorial transition.

But the fossil fuel industry is still putting massive pressure on incoming elected officials to continue the same policies that are polluting our environment and making people sicker. We need to keep up our advocacy to ensure that when Governor-Elect Shapiro takes office in January he will continue to prioritize the health of our communities and shared environment and stand up to the fossil fuel industry.

Please add your voices to mine and take a few moments to tell Governor-Elect Shapiro that we are thrilled to see him take office and get to work on the promises he made on the campaign trail: [link removed]

Thank you for all you do for our movement,
