Harborview Medical Center Art Panels
One artist will be selected to work in partnership with 4Culture, Harborview Medical Center, and King County staff to develop a unifying artistic design for architectural resin panels located on the 9th and 10th floors of the Ninth and Jefferson Building. This work is part of a remodel underway to expand the number of patient rooms at Harborview Medical Center.
Deadline: January 19, 2023 by 4:00 PM PDT
Budget: $20,000 artist design fee (includes any applicable taxes) for one artist. This fee supports the artist in the design phase of the project which includes research and immersion with 4Culture, Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington, and King County staff to develop a design to be incorporated into architectural resin panels
Eligibility: Open to artists who reside in King County, WA. This call is specifically targeted to artists and graphic designers who are able to translate their two-dimensional work such as photography, prints, illustration, and graphic design to a digital file. King County Metro: Artist in Residence
Act as a creative strategist, working jointly with Metro and 4Culture, to expand their collaborative potential and identify opportunities for public art programming that reflects and elevates the future of regional transit.
Deadline: February 14, 2023 by 4:00 PM PDT
Budget: $85,000/year ($75,000 in compensation plus $10,000 to help offset the cost of travel and accommodations); an additional $25,000 will be made available for art plan design, production, and dissemination along with $20,000 to facilitate programming and engagement activities. All budget items are inclusive of WA Sales Use/Tax and other applicable taxes
Eligibility: Open to professional artists and artist teams who reside in the United States and have demonstrated experience in arts-related strategic planning and community engagement. Candidates whose practice is rooted in equity and social justice are strongly encouraged to apply. Regular travel to King County, WA will be expected for office and field work.
