John,
Corruption is one of the leading causes of public distrust in the government.
So when members of Congress prioritize shady stock trading over the needs of their constituents, thereβs a problem.
Thankfully, Democrats like Senator Elizabeth Warren are sounding the alarm:
"Members of Congress should not own or trade individual stocks. And neither should their spouses." β Elizabeth Warren
Members of Congress are privy to insider knowledge, and when they use that knowledge to buy or trade stocks, itβs considered insider trading β which is illegal.
Elected officials should be held to the same standard as average citizens, not be above the law. But we want to hear your thoughts: Do you think members of Congress should be banned from owning and trading stocks?

We look forward to reading your response.
