Dear John,

Today, January 11, is Human Trafficking Awareness Day

[link removed]

Human trafficking takes a terrible toll, affecting nearly 25 million people worldwide, including tens of thousands here in the United States. Like domestic violence, trafficking is about power and control and exploitation of people, particularly women and children.

Futures Without Violence works to prevent this appalling violation of human rights by supporting and empowering survivors, and equipping workplaces, healthcare settings, and domestic violence agencies and advocates to respond. We also advocate for more effective support at the national level, including ensuring the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act last year helped secure measures to stop trafficking on Tribal lands.

And please, share the National Human Trafficking Hotline number with anyone who is, or who knows someone who is experiencing human trafficking: 1-888-373-7888 (TTY: 711; Text 233733).

Together, we can stop the exploitation of adults and children. Thank you, as always, for supporting our work!
