Friend,
The Texas Democratic Party team was at the Capitol in Austin yesterday to watch the swearing-in of the 88th Legislative Session -- and I can tell you that there was an electric energy in the building.
Texas Democrats made history by tripling the number of Black LGBTQ lawmakers and electing the first South Asian and Muslim members to the legislature!
Our Democratic legislators are more determined than ever to fight for the issues that matter most to Texas families, like affordable healthcare, quality public education, abortion freedom, and so many more pressing issues facing our communities.
We saw firsthand what Republicans are focused on in this session, Friend. Instead of working to pass legislation that would help everyday Texans, they're engaging in the same old tired, divisive culture war battles -- like attacking LGBTQ Texans and stripping away a person’s right to an abortion.
I’m so proud of our Texas Democrats who are so dedicated to improving the lives of Texas families, and I know you are too Friend. Will you sign our card and thank them for leading this fight?

With our heroic elected Democrats leading the charge, we can fight to make sure that Texas is a state that works for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected.
In service and hope,
