URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Airplanes are SPEWING TOXIC LEAD emissions over children! Take immediate action!

Imagine this: dozens of times a day, you hear small airplanes take off and land in your neighborhood. Your home is regularly covered in a gray film of TOXIC DUST. Lead pollution settles on the lawn and soil where your children play. This is the reality for many people who live near airports where propeller airplanes fly -- and these communities are disproportionately made up of people of color and low-wealth populations who don’t have the option to move away from toxic pollution.

There is no safe level of lead exposure, and children are the most vulnerable. Even low doses can cause brain and nerve damage, cancer, and other dangerous health issues. The EPA phased out lead gasoline in motor vehicles because of its devastating health impacts, but it still allows lead in general aviation fuel used at 20,000 airports in the United States. Friend, please PROTECT CHILDREN from TOXIC LEAD and demand the EPA regulate airplane emissions by 11:59pm TONIGHT!

Airplanes spew massive amounts of particulate matter, creating smog and pollution across the country. This pollution contributes to illnesses like lung cancer and heart disease and is linked to THOUSANDS of PREVENTABLE DEATHS every year. 

Over 3 MILLION children attend school within 1 kilometer of an airport using lead aviation fuel. These schoolchildren already have higher concentrations of lead in their blood. They’re at risk of developing nervous system disorders and other illnesses. The EPA is moving to protect children, communities, and our planet from toxic lead emissions and we need YOUR help to make sure the EPA acts NOW.
