Bernie Sanders and the Movement Behind Him
Dear John,
We believe in a future where every person is able live joyful, safe, creative, and fulfilling lives. And we believe in the power of human solidarity to create a more just, dignified world.
I have HUGE news. TakeAction Minnesota members endorsed Bernie Sanders for President because we believe in the movement his team and he are building.
Join us by getting involved at one of our kick-off events happening in St. Paul, St. Cloud, and Duluth. Sign up right now if you’re ready to build with us.
This is the first time in TakeAction Minnesota’s history that our members are endorsing a candidate for President. The decision was clear. In 2020, we have the power to contest for a people-centered government that is by us and for us and the stakes are too high to sit this one out.
The problems we face in our political system are bigger than one issue or election. Donald Trump is a symptom of a bigger problem. For decades, greedy corporations and the 1% have rigged the rules of our democracy. They use our differences -- race, gender, religion, country of origin -- to divide us and distract us so they can get richer.
We know there is another way.
Bernie Sanders is the only candidate running for president who is building alongside our people’s movements and organizing for a revolution in our politics. It’s a multiracial, gender diverse, multigenerational movement, made up of young people, parents, retired people, queer folks, people with disabilities, farmers, nurses, and teachers, white, Black, brown, and Indigenous folks.
In Bernie’s campaign, we see a reflection of ourselves – our hopes, dreams and struggle. Here in Minnesota, we’re organizing alongside this campaign to build people-power in our state to win the world our families, communities, and future generations deserve.
In 2020, we know that working people rising together can fundamentally change the direction of our country.
We’re clear that it is time to act, and we want you with us. Join us for one of our kick-off events in Duluth, St. Cloud, or the Twin Cities to build our movement to elect Bernie Sanders for President.
Between now and the March 3rd Presidential Primary, we’re going to be busy. We have thousands of doors to knock, voters to call, and friends and relatives to talk to. But we know when working people rise together, we’re unstoppable.
Onward,
Elianne Farhat
