Dear friend,
Last Friday, after 15 votes, Kevin McCarthy finally secured his role as Speaker — and to do it, he made deals with the most radical faction of his party.
Then the first bill of the new session was a tax cut for billionaires. When we were trying to make the expanded Child Tax Credit, that lifted millions of children out of poverty, permanent Republicans cried deficit. But now that it's the ultra rich that benefit, adding $114B to the deficit is no big deal.
This is a clear sign of what's to come in the next two years – and it's made me more determined than ever to retake the House in 2024. So the work starts now: Can I count on you? [[link removed]]

Working families deserve better than deals with the ultra-right behind closed doors. I was elected to serve our communities in Congress, and I'll keep fighting with everything I've got.
I hope you'll join me. [[link removed]]
Best,
Nydia
