Happy new year! 2023 is officially here, and while many would consider this an off-year, we at Ruth's List believe there's no such thing. We never skip a beat in our efforts to recruit, train, and elect Democratic pro-choice women to office, and this year promises to be no different.

Last year, we endorsed more than 100 women for state and local office, with a nearly 60% win rate. More than half of our candidates were women of color, and we helped elect one of the most diverse groups of women in our organization's history, including the first Haitian woman ever elected to the Miami-Dade County Commission. We flipped some key seats blue, and defeated the most anti-reproductive rights Democrat in the state legislature. And we couldn't have done it without you!

Are you a mail ballot voter?

Florida laws have changed and you must now submit a NEW request for a Vote-by-Mail ballot each cycle. In order to ensure you get your ballot for all 2023 and 2024 elections, visit the Florida Division of Elections website to find information by county and submit your new request today! 

TRAININGS

New for 2023, we're hosting a series of trainings to support candidates as they launch their campaigns and to help prospective candidates get a clearer sense of the process. These trainings will be held virtually via Zoom. Space is limited, so  register soon here.

If you're thinking about running for office and you're not sure how or where to start, join us for a You Should Run training in your area. This training will help you decide when to run and what office to run for, and will give you tangible tips on how to start preparing for your campaign. The sessions will feature a panel of former candidates who will share how they made the decision to run and what steps they took to get ready for their race.
