Friend,
When we talk about debt-free higher education, that means all forms of higher education -- including vocational school.
The average cost to attend trade school is about $33,000. While that is less than the cost of a four-year undergraduate education, it is still too high and puts vocational school graduates on rocky financial footing.
Our welders, electricians, automobile workers, nurses, and plumbers should not need to be held back and weighed down by the cost of their learning a trade.
Will you sign my petition to support debt-free vocational schools? [[link removed]]
The richest country in the industrialized world shouldn’t have to penalize anyone for learning a vocation to improve their lives and their community.
With a shortage of skilled trade workers, and job placement rates close to 100 percent, it’s more important than ever to encourage students to pursue trade, and make sure that they can do it without a debt burden.
W hen we say debt-free higher education, we mean ALL public education . Sign if you agree: all Americans deserve debt-free higher education. [[link removed]]
Secondary education is a necessity in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven economy. Whether it’s a two-year vocational school, or a four-year undergraduate degree, I will fight for debt-free public education for ALL.
We cannot allow a good education to come second to corporate greed. I won’t take the side of corporate interests, because I am not beholden to them. I am beholden to you. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you for being part of this people-powered movement.
In Solidarity,
