When I ran for Congress in 2018 I didn’t expect to be part of a firewall protecting our democracy from the GOP’s chaos and extremism. I was ready to fix our economy, lower costs for working families, create safer communities, and restore our rights. Last week, House Democrats sat on the floor through fifteen votes, waiting to be sworn in so we could get to work. But the GOP continued to foment chaos, play games, and waste our time – our service and duty to our constituents and Americans all went out the door as Republicans played chicken with the Constitution.
