These grassroots agents of change are immigrants and native-born Americans, and their political views span the ideological spectrum. Most had never engaged in activism before.
But meeting in living rooms and coffee shops, they launched effective grassroots movements that have successfully stopped the growth of these destructive policies, and protected students from being ostracized and bullied at school.

The book is co-authored by Lance Izumi, senior director of the Center for Education at the Pacific Research Institute, a nonpartisan, California-based free-market think tank; Wenyuan Wu, executive director of the Californians for Equal Rights Foundation; and McKenzie Richards, PRI policy associate.
