John – I remember the exact moment it started.
I had just finished my comments in the Judiciary Committee before the vote to confirm or reject the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court. As I glanced at my phone, I received a text. And then another. And then a dozen. Soon, there were too many to count. It went on like this for days. Apparently, my remarks on the Democrats' despicable treatment of Judge Kavanaugh – now Justice Kavanaugh – had struck a chord with folks who enthusiastically supported President Trump's pick to our nation's highest court. But I struck a different chord among the angry mobs, the liberal special interests and the left-wing radicals who have taken over the Democratic Party. Less than six weeks before an Election Day – when I wasn't even on the ballot – they literally stopped what they were doing to kick-off their campaign to defeat me. John, will you help me FIGHT BACK by joining my team today? Your early support means I will have the resources I need to not only build a winning campaign in 2020, but continue to stand up for our shared values. Liberal Hollywood celebrities signed fundraising emails against me, typed vicious Tweets and posted angry videos on social media. While their candidates were begging for dollars to win an election that would take place in six weeks, the South Carolina Democratic Party started a fund to defeat me in an election that wouldn't take place for another 110 weeks! This early smear campaign from the Left now means I am now the target of enraged mobs – simply because I stood up for the rule of law, due process and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. There was a point in our not-so-distant history when some moderate Democrats would have stood proudly alongside me. But I'm afraid those days are long gone. If anything, they've doubled-down against me. That's why I am asking you to come to my defense and support my campaign for re-election to the U.S. Senate. John, I've been able to count on folks like you in the past, and that's why I hope you'll send a personal contribution of $25, $35, $50 or $100 to Team Graham now. If you can help me kick-off 2020 with a larger contribution of $250, $500, or even $1,000, I can certainly use the extra help. Emboldened by their red-state victories a few months ago, liberal leaders have made me one of their targets in their quest to regain liberal control of the U.S. Senate. I am now a target for every liberal activist with a bone to pick and a dollar to spare. The Democrats vastly outraised Republicans in the 2018 elections, so I must turn to grassroots leaders like you right now. John, your early financial support will be a tremendous boost. There's no telling what kind of garbage the Democrats will throw at me. But for every fake fact and vicious attack, I must respond right away with the truth. There's too much at stake to sit on the sidelines. I've never seen the Democrats this determined to win at any cost. Frankly, it concerns me more for our democracy than it does for my own re-election.
