This excitingrole will be working in our recently redesigned HR/OD service and you will join a talented team of HR/OD experts in leading the *Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda* for the workforce, bringing together a wealth of expertise to support the Council to recruit, retain and motivate a diverse workforce. Thisrole operates at aStrategic level and is key in working with Councillors and other senior stakeholders to *develop and deliver an innovative and fresh Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy* for the Council, and to drive organisational plans collaboratively to achieve the strategy. You will be responsible for providingexpert advice to senior leaders and councillors on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion issues.
You will also l*ead the Employability agenda* and you will be critical in developing an Apprenticeship programme for the Council that supports this agenda and helps to recruit those who are underrepresented in the workforce, with Equality, Diversity and Inclusion issues at the *heart of everything you do*.

Working within the Council House in the Old Market Square your daily duties will depend on the needs of the Service but usually arriving at 7.30am each morningto clean for 2 hours (and 3.75 hours on a Saturday)in preparation for the building opening to the public at 9am- thiswill include cleaning toilet facilities, vacuuming carpets and cleaningwooden and tiledfloors and any other duties that may be necessary toassist the Cleaner in Charge.The working week will consist of 2 hours Monday to Friday each day starting at 7.30am until 9.30am and also 3 hours 45 minutes on a Saturday starting at 8.30am until 12.15pm. You will be working as part of a small Cleaning team and be supervised by a Cleaner in Charge and Facilities Manager who will provide you with training and guidance.
*ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:*
* Previous experience in working as part of a team and with a basic understanding of different cleaning methods and equipment within a Historic building preferred
* Ability to work efficiently and flexibly around the Service needs and opening hoursof the building
* Basic awareness of Health and Safety including the safe use of materials and equipment
* Punctuality, reliability and honesty
