After all the hard work in the 2022 Primary and General Elections, the Texas House and Texas Senate will be sworn-in tomorrow Tuesday January 10, 2023 to begin their work in this 88th Legislative Session.
Contact Texas State Representaive Cody Harris and State Senator Bob Hall and let them know where you stand on the legislation, so they are not standing alone. Their job is challenging and need our prayers. Democrata will be making their voices heard. Republican support from the district will be vital to our legislator's success. This could be in the form of displeasure or appreciation for the legislation
JANUARY 2023
Please attend the next RPNC Executive Committee Meeting to be held Monday January 16, 2023 (MLK Day) at Republican Headquarters. Social at 6:00 pm. Meeting begins at 6:30 pm.
State Republican Executive Committeeman District 2 (SREC02) Bruce Bishop will address the local party on bills filed for the 88th State Legislatitive Session and Republican legislative priorities. Bruce will be at the State Capitol in Austin on January 12 Organizational Day, when each chamber will adopt rules and operating procedures. He will report on his visit.
Key dates are:
* January 10 – First Day of Session (House elects Speaker, Senate elects President Pro Tempore)
* January 11-12 – Organizational Day (each chamber will adopt rules, operating procedures)
* January 17 -- Governor Greg Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick will be sworn-in at the south State Capitol steps.
* March 10 – Deadline to File Bills
* March 11 – Committees may begin holding public hearings on legislation
* May 8 – Deadline for House Committees to report House Bills or Resolutions
* May 19 – Deadline for Second and Third Reading of Bills/Resolutions (House)
* May 24 – Deadline for each chamber to consider Bills on Second or Third Reading
* May 28 – Last Day for each chamber to adopt Conference Committee Report or concur with opposite Chamber
* May 29 – Sine Die Adjournment

1. Protect our Elections
2. Secure the Border and Protect Texans
3. Ban Gender Modification of Children
4. Stop Sexualizing Texas Kids
5. Ban Democrat Chairs
6. Abolish Abortion in Texas
7. Defend Our Gun Rights
8. Parental Rights and Educational Freedom
