718 days. That’s how long it took for President Biden to finally visit the
southern border. Under his administration, border security has been completely
neglected, turning every state into a border state.

Our immigration system is being flooded. I saw it firsthand last year: our
border agents are overwhelmed, and despite their best efforts, they can’t
possibly stop all of the drugs, criminals, and violence from coming into the
country. This crisis affects all of us.
Even as a Congresswoman from Minnesota, I have taken clear action to hold
those who have bungled the crisis at our border accountable.
I spent my first two years in Congress demanding accountability. I pressed
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to do his job and
defend our national security. Of course, he consistently avoided answering
questions about his incompetence and willingly put Americans in danger. I've
repeatedly asked his office how many migrants have been flown into Minnesota…
I’m still waiting for a response.
It’s why I joined my colleagues last May in calling for his immediate
resignation (H.Res. 1091).
John, it’s clear that we can’t wait for President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas
to wake up and act. Republicans must lead by example and give border agents the
tools they need to finally secure the border.
