John, if my mama taught me anything, it was to be kind and to take care of myself, and while I’d venture to say that resonates with a lot of people, it’s also very difficult to execute in the current state of the country.

People from all over are feeling the sting of the direction we are headed, but it’s especially tough in rural and working-class communities. Broken infrastructure, unstable access to the internet, the collapse of rural hospitals, and inequitable access to healthcare and job security – this is all too real for rural America. I know because I live in a rural community. I’m surrounded by cow farms, chicken houses, and stretches of road that have no cell service.

I also know that the needs of my community are unique, and every rural community is a little different in what they need from their representatives. If Democrats are looking to make real changes to the lives of their constituents, then those in these rural and working-class areas need to feel heard and seen.

That is why I started working with No Dem Left Behind. We’re a group of people with real experience in rural areas and various backgrounds of seeing how policy impacts the lives of those around us. We know that something isn’t working to the benefit of these communities, and that’s exactly what we seek to fix.

Rural communities need the chance to be heard out and also given the chance to make a difference in electoral politics. Writing us off as a lost cause is just as bad for us as it is for the broader political landscape. There are so many different kinds of people, lifestyles, and families that live and work in these areas and they desperately need your support. Please chip in and help build the infrastructure to paint the electoral map from red to blue across middle America!

John, thank so much for being part of this network of support for rural Democrats!
