2022 Economic Census Mail Out Set to Begin [ [link removed] ]
The 2022 Economic Census mail out is set to begin January 31. The economic census is the U.S. government’s official five-year measure of businesses in the United States and their economic impact. Sent to over 4.2 million business locations, this provides the most comprehensive data available at the national, state and local level, representing most industries and geographies. Invitations to respond will be sent to selected businesses across the nation on January 31. These businesses will be asked to respond online by March 15 using an improved data collection instrument.

Business Trends and Outlook Survey Data Release
On January 5, the Census Bureau released data from the Business Trends and Outlook Survey (BTOS), a survey that measures business conditions on an ongoing basis. The BTOS is the successor to the Small Business Pulse Survey (SBPS), a high-frequency survey that measured the effect of changing business conditions during the coronavirus pandemic and other major events like hurricanes on our nation’s small businesses.

Basics of Using the Microdata Access Tool
Our participatory classes walk you through examples of creating tables in the Microdata Access Tool (MDAT) within data.census.gov. Microdata Access on data.census.gov/mdat allows you to create custom tables that are not available in the pre-made tables on data.census.gov without having to use your own statistical software or special programming.
Registration is required to attend these workshops. Attendance is limited to 50 participants per session.
