As I sat on the House floor last week — day after day — while we cast our Speaker votes, I witnessed firsthand the chaos that exists across the aisle. I saw the brinkmanship, the antics, the capitulation, and yes, the almost-fist fight up close. Amid that chaos, I thought about what guided me to run for Congress and what fuels my work every day. It’s my commitment to our communities and our country and my belief in the people I serve.

As we head into this new Congress and all the challenges before us, my campaign team and I are already beginning preparations for the next campaign.

The foundation we build now will have a profound impact on the success of our future campaign. One thing is for certain, races in VA-07 will continue to be incredibly close, and the support we build now means everything.

I’m proud of the work I’ve taken up in Congress. From capping the cost of live-saving insulin at $35 per month to securing key investments to fix our roads and bridges, expand rural broadband internet access, and build a greener future, it was a productive term.
